The 2026 "Golden Rules" for FBA Shipping Boxes
Amazon's automated fulfillment centers are more rigid than ever. To ensure your shipment is accepted at any USA based Amazon FBA prep warehouse, you must adhere to these carton specifications:
- Weight Limits: Standard boxes must not exceed 50 lbs. Any box over 50 lbs must have a "Team Lift" label, and those over 100 lbs require a "Mech Lift" label.
- Dimensions: As of mid-2025, the maximum box length has been updated to 36 inches (36" L x 25" W x 25" H). However, AWD (Amazon Warehousing and Distribution) shipments must still stay within the 25" limit.
- Dunnage: Only use approved packing materials like air pillows, full sheets of paper, or bubble wrap. Packing peanuts and shredded paper are strictly banned.
Precision Labeling: The FNSKU Requirement
Since Amazon no longer provides labeling services, the Amazon FBA labeling requirements are the seller's total responsibility. Every unit must have a scannable FNSKU barcode placed on a flat surface. You must cover all original manufacturer barcodes (UPC/EAN) to prevent "double-scan" errors. Using third-party Amazon FBA prep services is the safest way to ensure that your barcodes are thermal-printed and verified for scan-accuracy.
